Dirty Look

I got a dirty look from a liberal Seattle driver today. I judge she was a liberal by her bumper stickers, her hair style, and the bike on her car roof.

Do you think she gave me a dirty look because I passed her on the right as I approached my freeway exit, or because I have a "I Love Global Warming" bumper sticker in my window? :)

Which reminds me, I should print out a new "Free Washington" bumper sticker (a gift from Soto) and put it on. That one *really* makes people furl their brows in confusion. :)

Mine is a 2.5X, and does not have the hood scoop shown in the Subaru photo. Very responsive, a far cry from my Nissan 4x4 pickup, which was nimble by pickup standards.


I got my first door-ding today. Darn. Dark green spot about 2 mm across.

New Car

I hate buying new cars. I don't trust the salesmen. I don't like spending so much money. I struggle with the difficult decisions. That is why I put it off for as long as I can, typically 15 years.

Making change

I bought dinner at a Jack in the Box the other night. The young man at the counter mentioned that he was 16 and that it was his first day on the job. When my bill came to $6.52, I gave him $7.02. He immediately tried to give me a dollar back, saying that I gave him too much.

I said, "No, my change is 50 cents."

He said, "Oh, yeah, I'm not too good a math."

I might have inadvertantly shook my head and sighed.

Jennifer Dunn

We heard yesterday that our ex-Congressman, Jennifer Dunn, died yesterday. What a shock! She was a vibrant, fit, and energetic 66-year-old. I met her and shook her hand several times at political gatherings. Very classy lady, who rose to prominance in DC in the late 1990's. Here is a recent photo from King5 TV website in Seattle with her son, Reagan, who is also a politician (yes, guess which party). She retired a few years back, allowing Dave Reichert, the King County Sheriff who caught the Green River Killer, to become our Congressman.
